The Stirring of Revival
In September of 2012 God began to move on the hearts of several area Nazarene pastors to unite their congregations once a month in communion and prayer for Evansville and the surrounding area. As we began to seek Him for our area, several things began to take place: walls between congregations began to fall, past hurts and divisions began to heal, God's presence began to manifest in our gatherings, and we began to see a unified Church rather than separate congregations. The prayer concerts began with area Nazarene congregations but has crossed denominational lines as other tribes and denominations have joined with us. Lives are being transformed, people are being set free and revival is among us. There is a spirit of anticipation that is growing and God is truly moving in His Church. Declaration of UnityWe, the congregations of the Church in Evansville, Indiana and the surrounding areas, declare in the name of Jesus Christ that we are one church; redeemed by His blood, united through His Holy Spirit and called to His holy purpose.
We commit together to seek to love God with our whole being and, in turn, to love each other with His love. We will pray for each other, encourage, minister to, and labor with each other to see the Will of God and the Kingdom of God fulfilled and established in the Evansville area. Where there is hurt, we will forgive; where there is discouragement, we will uplift; where there is misunderstanding, we will seek to understand. We utterly reject any spirit of competition or territorialism that would divide us and hinder the mission of the Kingdom of God. We dedicate ourselves, abilities and resources to the glory of God. Through His blood we are family. Through His love we will serve. Through His power we will go forward and win this city and area for Him.
